I got a call yesterday from Bob's nurse, his condition is getting worse, his kidneys are possibly failing, his swelling has not gone down and he has a rash of unknown origin.
After discussing things with the nurse Bob will receive "comfort care" Hospice will be attending to him as well as the facility. He will receive food and water as long as he will take it but when he no longer wants to eat he will not be force fed. This is what he wanted as he did not want to be force fed like his mother was.
